Competition Terms & Conditions

1.1The promoter of the “Let’s Bake Together – For the Next Gem-erations” competition (the “Competition”) is Gem Pack Foods Limited (the “Promoter”).

1.2The Promoter’s website is www.nextgem.ie.

1.3These Terms and Conditions are available at www.nextgem.ie/terms-and-conditions.

2.1The Competition is open to residents of the Republic of Ireland who are aged 18 years or over.

2.2Employees, directors, officers, contractors and agents of the Promoter, its associated companies, agencies and anyone professionally connected with the Competition, together with their immediate family members, are not eligible to enter.

2.3The Promoter reserves the right to verify the eligibility of any entrant at any time and may disqualify any entrant who does not meet the eligibility requirements.

3.1The Competition opens at 00:00 on Thursday 1 October 2026 and closes at 23:59 on Monday 30 November 2026 (the “Promotional Period”).

3.2Entries received after the end of the Promotional Period will not be considered.

3.3The Promoter reserves the right to extend, amend, suspend or terminate the Promotional Period where circumstances outside its reasonable control make this necessary.

4.1To enter the Competition, eligible entrants must:

• a)visit www.nextgem.ie during the Promotional Period;
• b)submit a family recipe that has been passed down through their family or is meaningful to their family;
• c)provide the requested entrant details, including their full name and email address. The entrant’s full name will be used for the administration of the Competition; only their first name and county of residence will be featured publicly on the Competition website in connection with the Competition.
• d)provide a short story or background about their recipe, as requested on the Competition entry form. Entries must represent the entrant's genuine family recipe and story;
• e)provide the recipe ingredients and method;
• f)verify their email address using the verification link sent to the email address provided; and
• g)confirm their acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
• h)optionally consent to being added to the Gem Bake Club mailing list and to receiving Gem Bake Club newsletters and other relevant marketing communications from the Promoter. Marketing consent is optional and is not a condition of entry into the Competition. Entrants who choose to provide marketing consent may withdraw it at any time by using the unsubscribe link provided in any marketing email.

4.2No purchase is necessary to enter the Competition.

4.3Each eligible entrant may submit a maximum of three (3) entries per calendar month during the Promotional Period.

4.4Each entry must be submitted directly by the entrant and must relate to a family recipe and accompanying story.

4.5Entrants must not submit photographs containing identifiable children as part of their Entry Content.

4.6Email verification is required for all entries. Following submission of an entry, the entrant will receive a confirmation email containing a link to verify their email address.

4.7The entrant must verify their email address using the link provided in the confirmation email. An entry will not proceed to review until the email address has been successfully verified.

4.8Following successful email verification, the submitted recipe and accompanying content will be reviewed by the Promoter to ensure that it is appropriate for publication. This review is limited to checking the suitability of the submitted content for publication and does not constitute judging of the entry. Entrants should allow up to two (2) working days for this review.

4.9Once approved for publication, the recipe will be published on the Competition website and will proceed as an eligible entry, subject to the entrant continuing to meet all eligibility requirements and compliance with these Terms and Conditions.

4.10The Promoter reserves the right not to publish or to reject any submitted content that it considers, in its reasonable discretion, to be offensive, inappropriate, unlawful, misleading or otherwise unsuitable for publication.

4.11Where an image submitted with a recipe is of insufficient quality, is unclear, difficult to view, contains an identifiable child, or otherwise unsuitable for use on the Competition website, the Promoter reserves the right, at its discretion, to use an alternative image, including an AI-generated image, that is representative of the recipe. The use of an alternative image will not affect the entrant’s eligibility for the Competition, provided that all other entry requirements have been met. Where other illustrative image is used, it may be an illustrative representation of the submitted recipe and may not depict the entrant's actual preparation of the recipe.

4.12Entries submitted in excess of the permitted three (3) entries per person per calendar month (October 2026 and November 2026) will not be considered.

4.13Entries submitted by third parties or through automated devices, software or processes will not be accepted.

5.1By submitting an entry, the entrant confirms that:

• a)the entrant owns or has obtained all necessary rights, licences and permissions to submit and permit the Promoter to use the photograph or other material in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
• b)the Entry Content does not infringe the copyright, trademark, privacy, intellectual property or other rights of any third party; and
• c)they have obtained any necessary permission to submit photographs or other materials featuring identifiable third parties.

5.2Entrants must not submit photographs containing identifiable children as part of their Entry Content.

5.3The Promoter reserves the right to reject or disqualify any entry that is incomplete, illegible, offensive, inappropriate, fraudulent, misleading or otherwise fails to comply with these Terms and Conditions.

5.4The Promoter reserves the right to reject, remove or request replacement of any photograph that contains an identifiable child or otherwise raises privacy or safeguarding concerns.

6.1The Competition includes two separate prize selection processes:

• a)the Monthly Prizes, which will be awarded by random draw; and
• b)the Grand Prize, which will be awarded following a judging process.

6.2All valid and eligible entries received during October 2026 will be entered into the October Monthly Prize Draw. Three (3) winners will be selected at random from those eligible entries. The October Monthly Prize winners will be selected and announced during the first week of November 2026 on the Winners section of the Competition website at nextgem.ie.

6.3All valid and eligible entries received during November 2026 will be entered into the November Monthly Prize Draw. Three (3) winners will be selected at random from those eligible entries. The November Monthly Prize winners will be selected and announced during the first week of December 2026 on the Winners section of the Competition website at nextgem.ie.

6.4Each valid and eligible recipe entry will constitute one entry into the relevant Monthly Prize Draw. Entrants may submit up to three (3) eligible recipe entries per calendar month in accordance with clause 4.3.

6.5The Monthly Prize Draws will be conducted fairly and at random from all valid and eligible entries received during the relevant calendar month.

6.6All valid and eligible entries received throughout the entire Promotional Period will automatically be considered for the Grand Prize, including entries that have been selected as Monthly Prize winners. No separate entry is required.

6.7Winning a Monthly Prize does not affect an entrant’s eligibility for the Grand Prize. Monthly Prize-winning entries will remain eligible and will be included in the Grand Prize judging process alongside all other valid and eligible entries.

6.8The Grand Prize will be awarded following a judging process. All valid and eligible entries will be judged based on the following criteria:

• •the story and emotional connection behind the recipe;
• •its family or generational significance;
• •authenticity and originality; and
• •how well the entry captures the spirit of “Let’s Bake Together – For the Next Gem-erations.”

6.9The Grand Prize judging will be carried out by a judging panel appointed by the Promoter.

6.10The Grand Prize winner will be selected following the judging process and announced on Monday 7 December 2026 on the Winners section of the Competition website at nextgem.ie.

6.11The Promoter’s decision regarding the administration of the Monthly Prize Draws and the Grand Prize judging process will be final and binding, subject to applicable law. No correspondence will be entered into regarding the selection of winners.

7.1There will be three (3) monthly prize winners in October 2026.

7.2There will be three (3) monthly prize winners in November 2026.

7.3Each monthly prize winner will receive one Cookbook Collection featuring cookbooks from Gem’s Brand Ambassadors.

7.4Each Cookbook Collection comprises:

• •Shane Smith – Loaf Tin Bakes;
• •One of Sarah Butler’s Cookbook;
• •Jolene Cox – Now We’re Cooking; and
• •Orla Drumgoole – Irish Mammy Cooks.

7.5There will be six (6) monthly prize winners in total during the Promotional Period.

7.6The Promoter reserves the right to substitute any monthly prize with an alternative prize of equal or greater value where the advertised prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond its reasonable control.

8.1One (1) overall Grand Prize winner will receive a €1,000 Original Irish Hotels Voucher (the “Grand Prize”).

8.2The voucher may be used towards accommodation at participating Original Irish Hotels in accordance with the terms and conditions of Original Irish Hotels.

8.3All bookings and arrangements relating to the use of the voucher must be made directly with Original Irish Hotels and are subject to their booking terms, availability and applicable voucher terms and conditions.

8.4Further information about Original Irish Hotels and its voucher terms is available at www.originalirishhotels.com.

8.5The Promoter is not responsible for the availability of accommodation, booking arrangements or any terms imposed by Original Irish Hotels in relation to the use of the voucher.

8.6The Grand Prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

8.7Any additional costs associated with using the voucher, including costs exceeding the €1,000 voucher value, are the responsibility of the winner unless otherwise stated.

8.8The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the Grand Prize with an alternative prize of equal or greater value where circumstances beyond its reasonable control make this necessary.

9.1Following successful email verification and completion of the Promoter’s content review, each eligible entry that has been approved for publication will be published on the Gem-eration Recipe Page on the Competition website.

9.2From the recipes published on the Gem-eration Recipe Page, the Promoter may select certain recipes to be displayed in the Featured Recipes section of the Competition website’s homepage.

9.3Selection of a recipe for the Featured Recipes section is an editorial decision made by the Promoter and does not constitute a prize, guarantee that the entrant will win a monthly prize or the Grand Prize, or give the entry any advantage in the judging process.

9.4Selection for the Featured Recipes section is separate from the Competition judging process and does not influence the judging outcome or an entry’s eligibility for a prize.

9.5The Promoter may select recipes for the Featured Recipes section before, during or after the judging process.

9.6Recipe Disclaimer: Recipes are submitted by members of the public and are not professionally tested or verified by the Promoter. The Promoter does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or suitability of any recipe, ingredients, quantities, cooking times or methods, including information relating to allergens or dietary requirements. Users should exercise appropriate care when preparing recipes and should independently check ingredients and allergen information before preparation or consumption.

10.1Winners will be contacted using the email address and on phone number provided when entering the Competition.

10.2Winners may be required to provide reasonable proof of identity, age and eligibility before receiving their prize.

10.3Winners must respond to the Promoter within 28 days of being contacted to claim their prize.

10.4If a winner does not respond within 28 days, the Promoter reserves the right to withdraw the prize and select an alternative winner from the remaining eligible entries.

10.5The full name and county of residence of the winners will be published on the Competition website at www.nextgem.ie and/or in the Gem Bake Club newsletter for the purpose of announcing and identifying the winners. The Promoter may publish the winner’s full name and county of residence for this purpose. Email address and phone number won’t be published in any platforms.

11.1By submitting a recipe, story, photograph or other material as part of an entry (the “Entry Content”), the entrant confirms that they have the right to submit the Entry Content and to grant the rights set out in these Terms and Conditions.

11.2By entering the Competition, the entrant grants the Promoter, Gem Pack Foods, a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to reproduce, publish, edit, adapt, communicate and otherwise use their Entry Content for the purposes of the Competition, the “Let’s Bake Together – For the Next Gem-erations” campaign, and for Gem Pack Foods’ future communications, publications and promotional activities relating to the Competition, the recipes, "the Promoter" or its products.

11.3The licence granted under clause 11.2 will continue beyond the Competition and will include the right for the Promoter, its contractors, agencies, publishers and other service providers to use and reproduce submitted recipes and accompanying stories in future publications, including, without limitation, a recipe book, cookbook, digital recipe collection, website or other print or digital publication, without the need to obtain further consent from the entrant or make any further payment to the entrant.

11.4The Promoter may edit, adapt, crop, format or otherwise modify Entry Content for reasonable editorial, design, production or promotional purposes, including correcting spelling or grammar, shortening content, adapting recipes for formatting or publication, and making changes necessary for a particular medium, while seeking to preserve the original meaning and character of the Entry Content.

11.5The entrant retains ownership of any intellectual property rights they own in the Entry Content, subject to the licence granted to the Promoter under these Terms and Conditions.

11.6Where recipes or stories are used in future publications or communications, including any recipe book, the Promoter may publish them without publishing the entrant’s name, email address, or other personal contact details. The Promoter will not publish or use personal contact details as part of any recipe or story publication.

11.7Photographs submitted as part of an entry may be used for the purposes set out in these Terms and Conditions where appropriate. Photographs containing identifiable children will not be used by the Promoter and will be rejected or removed in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. Photographs containing other identifiable individuals must only be submitted where the entrant has obtained any necessary permission for their use in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

11.8The entrant acknowledges that, subject to these Terms and Conditions, Gem Pack Foods may continue to use recipes and stories submitted as part of the Competition in future publications and communications without seeking further consent from the entrant or making any additional payment.

12.1Personal data provided when entering the Competition will be collected and processed by the Promoter for the purposes of administering the Competition, contacting entrants and winners, verifying entries and awarding prizes.

12.2Personal data may be shared with authorised third-party service providers where reasonably necessary to administer the Competition, including website, technology and prize fulfilment providers.

12.3Personal data will be processed in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, and in accordance with the Promoter’s Privacy Policy.

12.5Gem Bake Club Marketing: By ticking the relevant marketing consent box on the Competition entry form, entrants agree to be added to the Gem Bake Club mailing list and to receive Gem Bake Club newsletters and other relevant marketing communications from the Promoter. Entrants may withdraw their marketing consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link provided in the relevant email. Withdrawal of marketing consent will not affect an entrant’s participation in the Competition or eligibility for any prize.

12.6Marketing communications will be sent in accordance with applicable data protection and electronic marketing legislation.

12.7The Promoter will retain entrants’ personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to administer the Competition, deal with queries or disputes and comply with its legal obligations. Where an entrant has consented to receive marketing communications, their email address will be retained for marketing purposes until they withdraw their consent or otherwise request that their data no longer be used for that purpose, subject to any legal obligations requiring retention.

12.8Entrants have rights under applicable data protection law, including rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and data portability, where applicable.

13.1By accepting a prize, winners agree that the Promoter may use their name, photograph, likeness and statements relating to the Competition and/or their winning entry for reasonable promotional purposes connected with the Competition and Gem.

13.2Such publicity may include publication on the Competition website, Gem’s website, social media, public relations materials, digital communications and other campaign-related channels.

13.3The Promoter will not publish a winner’s email address, telephone number, home address or other personal contact details as part of any winner announcement or promotional activity.

13.4Where the Promoter wishes to use photographs, video, interviews or other promotional material featuring a winner beyond the publication of the winner’s name and winning entry, the Promoter may seek the winner’s separate agreement or permission where appropriate.

14.1The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant where it reasonably believes that the entrant has attempted to manipulate, abuse or unfairly influence the Competition.

14.2This includes fraudulent, dishonest, automated or otherwise improper entries.

14.3The Promoter reserves the right to reject or disqualify any entry where it reasonably believes that the Entry Content has been falsified, materially manipulated or misrepresented, including where an entrant has submitted a recipe, story, photograph or other material that is not their own or has been presented in a misleading manner. This includes attempts to misrepresent the origin, authorship, authenticity or circumstances of an entry.

15.1The Promoter will take reasonable steps to administer the Competition fairly but accepts no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, corrupted, incorrectly submitted or not received due to technical, network or other failures outside its reasonable control.

15.2The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any technical malfunction, website failure, network failure or other issue that prevents an entrant from participating in the Competition.

15.3The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any failure by a third-party prize provider to fulfil its obligations in relation to a prize.

15.4Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits any liability which cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.

16.1The Promoter reserves the right to cancel, amend, suspend or terminate the Competition where circumstances outside its reasonable control make this necessary.

16.2The Promoter will not make changes that materially disadvantage entrants except where necessary due to circumstances outside its reasonable control.

17.1Entry into the Competition constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

17.2If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.

17.3The Promoter’s decision in relation to all matters concerning the Competition will be final, subject to applicable law.

17.4These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Ireland and entrants submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland.
